11/8 Mobilization to the Department of International Relations in Mexico City!

Invites the national and international mass media to participate and propagate the actionsto defend the human rights of our migrant brothers and sisters.

To protest the death of 72 migrants that took place in San Fernando Ranch, the fourthannual Global Forum on Migration and Devlopment (GFMD), and for the departure ofThe Caravan for the Dignity of Migrants heading to Puerto Vallarta.

The objective of this protest is to demand justice, thruth and reparation forto thedamages caused by the massacre of 72 migrants., Wwe additionally demand that theMexican sState be accountable with policies of protection and defense of with the rightsof transmigrants and to reject the legitimacy of the of the fourth GFMD, which weconsider a space not representative of the migrants who are part of the TIC and the Third Assembly.

We demand the implementation, by the Mexican Government and the Department ofInternational Relations (Secretaria de Relaciones Externas, SRE), of the guidelinesoutlined in Article 89 of the Mexican Constitution, which imposes obligations to act in accordance with the principles of self-determination for the people; no intervention; thepacific resolution of conflicts; the outlawing of the use of coercion or the use of force international relations; the equality to judiciary process by the states; the internationalcooperation for development; and the struggle for peace and international security.
We also mobilize to promote the departure of the People’ s Caravan for Dignity forMigrants, which will depart at 11:30 p.m. from the Gran Hotel Texas (located at IgnacioMariscal # 129 Col. Tabacalera, Mexico City), their destination beingen route to PuertoVallarta. This Caravan will do make a stop in Guadalajara City on November 9th, tobe part of a session specific to TIC. On Wednesday November 10th we will present theconclusions from the 3rd International Assembly of Migrants and Refugees (IAMR 3) atthe opening for the Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD).

The protest will take place in front of the Department of International Relations(Secretaria de Relaciones Externas, SRE), in Mexico Ccity at 10 a.m. on Monday,November 8th, 2010.
